Renovating the Relationship and Judith’s Challenge are separate, stand-alone stories with the same setting and overlapping characters. Renovating the Relationship is a prequel to Judith and shows how Brad and Dani Carpenter got together, how they came to be working for Drew Robertson, and the role Drew plays in making their relationship possible.
Nestled deep in the Blue Ridge Mountains, not far from the city of Asheville, Drew Robertson’s new home is a refuge for the reclusive, war-scarred vet who accumulated some wealth from fortunate investments.
But at the beginning of Renovating the Relationship, the place he’s just bought is a bit of a mess. He brings in Brad Carpenter to begin transforming the grounds into the garden he dreams of.
He still has to deal with the rundown, dilapidated interior that needs a complete refurb. Brad suggests he hire an old friend for the job. Dani is a widow whose grown children have left and she’s at loose ends. He thinks she’d be perfect for the job of housekeeper and manager of the refurbishing job.
Brad hopes for a second chance with Dani, though the problem that drove them apart years ago remains. She needs heavy sensation, pain, to get aroused, and he can’t manage to do that to her.
But he has an idea…
